Bridging the gap between research and practice by enabling a peer-to-peer exchange of adaptable knowledge, skills, and practices to advance learning and effect systemic change in academic STEM environments.

Resource Library Curation

The ARC Network offers a rich library of curated resources to aid the community in their STEM equity efforts. Reports, white papers, briefings, unpublished manuscripts, toolkits, datasets, training videos, evaluation practices, and many other resources produced by researchers and practitioners are a key part of well-informed systemic change.

Online Community and Virtual Engagement

Our community engagement strategy moves beyond traditional list-servs and social media to incorporate regular programming, like meet-ups, live online chats and weekly shout-out threads as consistent ways for community members to interact.

As the go-to hub for community collaboration, the ARC Network platform offers events hosted by the community and provides online learning opportunities, such as webinars and virtual workshops. These online events build community, create resource awareness, offer training on adapting resources, share emerging research and agendas, and more.

Equity in STEM Community Convening

The ARC Network hosts the biennual Equity in STEM Community Convening, which takes the place of and expands upon the annual NSF ADVANCE PI Workshop. The convening brings together members of the community to share research, resources, and promising practices for STEM equity. The first Equity in STEM Community Convening was hosted in October 2019. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the next convening has been delayed until spring of 2022.

Funded by the National Science Foundation ADVANCE Program, Awards HRD-2121468 and HRD-1740860, the ADVANCE Resource and Coordination (ARC) Network seeks to achieve gender equity for faculty in higher education science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) disciplines. As the STEM equity brain trust, the ARC Network recognizes the achievements made so far while producing new perspectives, methods and interventions with an intersectional, intentional and inclusive lens. The leading champion in North America to propel the inclusion of women in the field of engineering, the Women in Engineering ProActive Network (WEPAN), serves as the backbone organization of the ARC Network.
